Meet Lisa & Dawn!
Hi! We’re Lisa and Dawn – aka Mrs & Mrs Toddler Sense Cardiff East!
We’ve been married for 3 years, worked together in a primary school for 18 years (and still actually like each other!), and between us we have two daughters, two sons-in-law, a granddaughter, a grandson, three family dogs … and a campervan!
Life is definitely BUSY – but we wouldn’t have it any other way!
We are SO excited to be running Toddler Sense Cardiff East. It had always been a dream of ours to work together doing something we both feel passionate about, and when the opportunity came along to bring Toddler Sense to Cardiff, we knew it was the adventure we’d been waiting for!
A little bit about Lisa…
I’ve worked in schools for over 20 years as a Senior Teaching Assistant, spending much of that time in Nursery and Reception – my absolute favourite place to be!
I’ve always had a real passion for helping little ones grow, learn and develop. Along the way, I also trained in Speech and Language support and British Sign Language, giving me even more ways to communicate with and support children of all abilities.
After two decades in the classroom, I decided it was time for a new chapter – one that gave me more time with our growing family (especially our gorgeous grandchildren!) while still allowing me to do what I love most… work with little ones!
Then along came Toddler Sense!
Now you’ll find me singing silly songs, dancing, playing, setting up adventures and probably having just as much fun as the toddlers!
A little bit about Dawn…
For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to work with children.
I studied for an Education Degree, completed my teacher training and went on to spend 22 years working as a teacher, Early Years Leader and Assistant Headteacher.
I’ve had the privilege of supporting hundreds of children and their families through some of those incredibly important early years.
I loved teaching, but after more than two decades in primary education, I was ready for a BIG new adventure!
I wanted something that still allowed me to use all that experience and continue doing what I love most – helping little ones grow, learn, develop and gain confidence – but in a fun, energetic and nurturing environment.
Toddler Sense was the perfect fit!
Now I get to bring all that Early Years experience into our sessions while creating magical adventures where toddlers can explore, move, play, discover and just be toddlers!
And now we get to do it TOGETHER!
After spending so many years working in education, we feel incredibly lucky to have created a new chapter that brings together everything we love – children, families, learning, play, creativity, music, movement and LOTS of fun!
We can’t wait to welcome you and your wonderful toddlers to Toddler Sense Cardiff East, get to know your families and make lots of happy memories together.
